WE HAVE TO GO BLLLLLLLLLLLLOG!!!

How to Speak LOST

The key to speaking LOST is to take a very simple, basic piece of knowledge (e.g. your age) and, instead of outright saying it, you vaguely hint towards what it might be for years on end for no actual reason. Luckily, no one will ever press you that hard or ever demand actual answers. Here are some simple English-to-LOST translations:

English: “I want to poison your undead friend because he’ll beĀ under Smokey/FakeLocke’s control soon and that dude is evil.”
LOST: “If you do not give this mysterious, unexplained pill to your friend, the consequences will be dire and bad things may or may not happen.”

English: “I want answers!”
LOST: “I want vague, non-committal phrases that could mean literally anything!”

English: “We’re the Others. Some of us are ex-DHARMA hippies, Egyptians, or randomly recruited folks. We have a sweet temple with a magic hot tub.”
LOST: “We’re the good guys.”
